Its a Party!

For Deshy's first birthday party, we went with a colorful "rolling" theme. We had all things that roll: polka dots, wagons, bouncy balls, trucks, balloons, pinwheels, swirly lollipops and gum balls.

As guest arrived they signed in using their fingerprints on a special birthday wagon and ball page.

The food table offered rolled up PBJs, Ken's delicious salads (a pasta and a caprese), jello cups, fruit salad served in waffle cones, individual bags of chips, veggies and dip, and lemonade with sherbet.

Lisa Watkins of Bug O'Boo Creations made Deshy's adorable 1st Birthday Shirt. I love how the '1' sat in grass on a hand stitched wooden post and the surprise pinwheel on the back.

Deshy came sooo close to walking at his party!

When it was time to blow out his candles, we all sang Happy Birthday and then Deshy got his first piece of red velvet cake.

 Yummy!!!
 Say 'Cheese'!!!
It wasn't long before Deshy discovered his birthday presents.
He loved everything! He received such wonderful and thoughtful gifts. He has had fun daily playing or wearing each gift since the party.

Overall, I think everyone had a good time.
And when the party was over, Deshy slept for a long time.
It was a perfect day.

A Happy Birthday!

On Deshy's first birthday, he woke up to balloons, colorful pinwheels, pendants hanging from his highchair and a yummy apple birthday cake with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles.

For breakfast, he enjoyed blueberry pancakes.

We got all dressed up and met Grammy and Grandpa for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Deshy filled up on apple juice (a birthday treat!) and yummy bread so he was full by the time his pizza came.

He had so much fun that he promptly fell asleep on the way home.

That evening, Grandma and Grandpa stopped by with a birthday present and to have some birthday cake.

Surprise! Its the loudest toy ever!!! Thaaaaaaanks, Grandma and Grandpa.

Then of course we had to blow out candles.

Deshy snuck a taste before the candles were lit.
That sure is a lot of candles for a one year old!

Make a wish!

Happy Birthday little Deshy!!!

One Year!

Deshy is one year old! My sweet baby boy is growing up. He is a little love. He loves to give hugs and kisses. Loves stuffed animals and cuddling with them. Is starting to "drive" everything around, including tupperware, blocks and remote controls. Loves music and dancing. He points at everything and tells us when he wants something. He follows directions. He's finally a good eater and loves fruit and veggies (with lots of butter). He has four teeth on top and four on the bottom.

He claps his hands when he's excited. He has taken his first steps and is on his way to walking. Deshy is adventurous. He loves to be thrown in the air. He loves to swing high in the park swings. He loves to wrestle with Dad and climb all over him. He's becoming more verbal and starting to mimic sounds.

Here are his one year pictures. Part of me will miss taking these monthly pictures but a bigger part is so happy its over. Enjoy!
