My baby is growing up! I can't believe it. He's such a little boy now.
He loves to be outside. He loves to listen to music. He loves dancing and singing. He loves water, taking baths, playing in the sink, loves his inflatable kiddy pool, filling up and dumping out containers of water, and swimming at Swim America. He enjoys his swim lessons finally: can float on his back, jump off the wall, swim to the wall, put his face in the water and the best thing of all....go down the slide. He loves it.
Deshy loves other kids. He loves books and will always sit and read a book with me or by himself. He loves anything that lights up and he loves light switches. He opens the garage door every morning for Daddy then closes it once his car has pulled out. He gives kisses and 'loves' (which is when he puts his cheek against whatever he's loving). He loves all animals, real and stuffed. He has no fear when it comes to the mascot characters that roam around at events.
He's not a big fan of driving in the car which means car rides have turned into me tossing toys and food to him in the back to keep him happy.
He goes to bed at about 8pm and sleeps until around 6am. He just started taking 2 and a half hour naps in the middle of the day, it was previously two 1 hour naps. I hope the new schedule sticks and we're down to one nap a day.
He can open and shut doors now. Yikes!
He can do a forward and backward tumble (with help), run, and ride his toy car all by himself. He loves to throw balls and drive his little cars around. He can stack blocks and screw the lid on his baby food packs. He loves fruit, especially strawberries, and muffins and pasta and veggies.
He is talking and can say: Mama, Dada, tickle, ow, no, hot!, teddy, yeah, bye, Moooo, woof, Pepper (Grammy's dog), meow, bubbles, can snort like a pig, and sign for 'more'. He understands most everything I say to him. He follows directions. When I tell him to put something away or go get something he usually does it. He knows where his eyes, nose, ears, mouth, teeth, tongue, toes, feet, hands, tummy, belly button and hair is. He can brush his teeth.
Deshy is a strong-willed child and likes to do things on his own terms. He takes his time when he's faced with something new and will take it on when he's ready. There is no forcing this kid to do anything. I'm told its a good trait to have, and now I know that we take things slow and let him decide when he's ready to do something.
He's a beautiful little boy (if I may say so, myself) and he makes our home a fun and happy place to be.
This is so great! We don't spend as much time with Deshy, but I feel like I know him better after this post. Macy is starting to push rolling toys around on her feet so I think she'll at least be able to walk around with Desh in June. He's totally got her beat with the forward and backward tumble though!
